New for Fibrefest, 9-10 September 2017
Saturday 10 am to 5 pm
Sunday 10 am to 4 pm
The Mississippi Valley Textile Museum and the following vendors and fibre artists are also pleased to be holding workshops, which run Friday, Sept 8, through Sunday, Sept 10, that celebrate the colours, textures and diverse crafts that create beauty from natural fibres.
Most workshops are conducted in the upstairs room at the Arena, some are being held upstairs at the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum, so please check carefully for your workshop’s location.
- Friday and Saturday workshop registration fees include free admission to Fibrefest on both Saturday and Sunday September 9 and 10, 2017.
- Children’s workshops on Sunday include free admission to the festival on Sunday only.
Registration for each workshop is via Paypal through the MVTM website and a portion of the funds benefit The Mississippi Valley Textile Museum.
KIT COST IS PAYABLE DIRECTLY TO THE VENDOR AT THE TIME OF THE WORKSHOP.
While some vendors can accept credit all will accept cash. Also, please note that some workshops may require the participant to bring some of their own supplies; pins, glue guns, knitting needles for instance. Bring your own lunch if applicable and a mug as there will be coffee/tea/water available.
No refunds will be issued for the workshops but in case of a conflict any person who has registered may send another person in their place for that particular workshop on that day and time.
Thank you, in advance, for your support on this, our first year, of workshops along with the textile show. We hope that you will enjoy participating in these workshops and will provide us with constructive criticism at the conclusion along with suggestions for upcoming festivals.
And....first and foremost...ENJOY!
Sunday Workshops for Kids
Sunday’s workshops at the Almonte Arena are designed to introduce a whole new generation to the joys of textile art; the children. Parent and child are registered as one unit and the parent must remain and assist the child through the activities of the workshop. Many of the supplies have been donated to keep costs down and admission to the festivalon Sunday is included in the registration fee. Registration is nominal and is chiefly in order to have the correct amount of supplies on hand.
